About Us

Brisbane and Gold Coast classes are facilitated by Karlie Dickson, an experienced health care provider with over 17 years experience in midwifery, nursing, and paediatrics. Her qualifications include Bachelor in Nursing and Diploma in Midwifery and Paediatrics. Karlie is a practising midwife and is currently in the process of completing her masters in midwifery. 

Karlie is passionate about education and support for women and their families throughout the birthing journey. With her extensive knowledge acquired from years of hands-on professional experience and also being a mother herself, Karlie is well qualified to cover all aspects of pregnancy, labour, birth, breastfeeding and child health.  

Her classes will empower you to actively participate during your stages of pregnancy, birth and beyond and equip you to understand how to care for your newborn baby. 

Melbourne classes are facilitated by Marian Daish, who has vast experience in hospital and community based care in Victoria, Tasmania, New South Wales, Nigeria and Zambia. Her many qualifications include general nursing, midwifery, maternal and child health, psychology and social science (human services - counselling).   

Marian's passion for antenatal education and support has brought her to the BabySteps antenatal education program. Her classes will empower you to actively participate during your stages of pregnancy, birth and beyond and equip you to understand how to care for your newborn baby.

Dr. Andrew Davidson MBBS FRANSCOG is an Obstetrician and Gynaecologist. He has been in private practice on the Gold Coast for over 15 years, having previously worked in the public system at Tweed Heads and Bathurst, NSW.

Andrew's approach to obstetrics has been for as little intervention as possible and more natural and reduced stress methods. In this regard, Andrew was involved in the successful introduction of waterbirth option at JFH and has also produced a DVD based on waterbirthing.

Dr. Davidson is actively involved in BabySteps and brings his vast experience and knowledge to the program.
